Alabama Community College Systems is soliciting sealed proposals from general contractors previously approved through a prequalification process for renovation of the Lolley Gym at Enterprise State Community College. Contractors must be properly licensed under Alabama requirements, and bid documents will be distributed electronically by the architect only to prequalified general contractors. Subcontractors should obtain documents through a general contractor or plan room. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to Alabama Community College Systems must accompany the proposal in an amount of at least 5% of the bid, capped at $10,000. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds, along with required insurance, will be required at contract signing. The proposal must include ACCS Form 5-A, Accounting of Sales Tax Attachment, attached to ACCS Form 5-E Proposal Form. The project is bid excluding taxes and involves Alabama sales-tax exemption procedures for eligible construction materials and supplies. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference is required for general contractors intending to submit a proposal.
