Description
Houston County Public Building Authority is soliciting prequalification proposals from general contractors for construction of the Houston County Department of Human Resources facility in Dothan, Alabama. Only contractors that complete the prequalification process within the stated time limits and meet Alabama general-contractor licensing requirements may submit bids; subcontractors may participate through a prequalified general contractor. Prequalification proposals are due electronically by 2:00 PM local time on October 8, 2026. Sealed bids from prequalified general contractors are due by 2:00 PM local time on October 29, 2026, and will be publicly opened. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on October 15, 2026, at the bid-opening location. Bids must include a cashier's check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the bid amount, capped at $10,000, and must include the required DCM Form C-3A sales-tax accounting attachment. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds, as well as required insurance, will be required at contract signing.
