Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for a planned firm-fixed-price construction project at the New Inpatient Mental Health Building, Building 49. The work includes installing two electric backup boilers with associated piping, pumps, electrical and concrete work; installing rigid vinyl sheet wall covering and appurtenances; and installing tempered-glass nurse station partitions. The contractor would provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and related services, and must perform the work while maintaining hospital operations and complying with applicable safety and life-safety requirements. The notice requests a response of no more than three pages, including a statement of interest, business category and applicable VA certification status, capability statement, firm and point-of-contact details, and information on three recent relevant projects. Respondents are also asked to confirm their ability to obtain performance and payment bonds up to $500,000. This is market research only, not a solicitation or commitment to award; the anticipated future contract is described as a one-time requirement. The attached statement of work specifies a 210-calendar-day period of performance after notice to proceed.
