Description
Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation seeks a qualified contractor for complete construction of a new gymnasium adjacent to the Newburg Community Center. The scope includes labor, materials, equipment, and services for site preparation and earthwork; utility connections; foundations and concrete work; structural framing; roofing; exterior and interior walls, windows, and doors; interior finishes; and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The project also includes masonry, accessibility features, and coordination with the department during construction. Proposals are evaluated on contractor qualifications and references (50 points) and price (50 points). The proposal package includes a bid form, firm background and experience information, references and experience, pricing, subcontractor qualifications, and required good-faith-effort materials. A bid bond of at least 5% of the base bid is required for projects awarded above $100,000; performance and payment bonds are required from the successful proposer. Insurance requirements apply before work begins, and builders’ risk coverage is required for new building construction. The solicitation also requires a site visit by all proposers.
