Description
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is procuring six single-pole manual disconnect switches, three single-pole motorized disconnect switches, and one double-pole motorized disconnect switch for a 25 kV AC overhead contact system. The supplier's scope includes design, manufacture, procurement, quality control, factory testing, freight, transport, and delivery, along with material certifications, bills of lading, shipping manifests, shop drawings, technical data, test plans, certified test reports, and operation and maintenance information. Installation and final site testing are assigned to a separate contractor. The switches must meet detailed electrical, mechanical, environmental, safety, and testing requirements, including outdoor service, 25 kV-class insulation, specified current and short-circuit ratings, manual or remote motorized operation, weatherproof enclosures, control and indication equipment, grounding, and compatibility with the overhead catenary system. Delivery is required by September 2, 2027. Bidders must submit the required bid forms, signed standard terms and conditions, pricing, and proof of insurance; award will be made to the lowest-priced responsive and responsible bidder.
