Description
The U.S. Air Force requires replacement of three existing submersible turbine pump secondary-containment sumps serving the underground storage tank fuel-dispensing system at Building 314. The contractor must furnish and install three 42-inch heavy-duty fiberglass/polyethylene deep-burial sumps compatible with existing 12,000-gallon double-wall fiberglass tanks, along with tank-mounting flanges, flexible pipe-entry boots, emergency ball valves, liquid-tight penetrations, explosion-proof conduits and seal-offs, H-20 traffic-rated manhole rings and lids, reinforcement, and high-early-strength concrete restoration. The scope includes utility isolation, demolition and excavation, disposal of contaminated debris, dewatering, sump and piping installation, backfill, operational testing, hydrostatic and fuel-system tightness testing, environmental test reports, and surface restoration. The contractor must provide a site-specific safety plan, spill-prevention and response plan, applicable UST licensing and technician credentials, manufacturer cut sheets, and compliance with EPA, Kansas, NFPA, OSHA, and Air Force requirements. All work must be completed within 30 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with on-site construction estimated at four consecutive business days, and includes a one-year workmanship and installation warranty plus transfer of manufacturer warranties.
