Description
Bibliomation, Inc. is soliciting proposals for internet access, data transmission, and fiber maintenance for member libraries with existing dark-fiber infrastructure. The requested service speeds range from 25 Mbps to 1 Gbps, and the RFP identifies 11 eligible entities. Bidders must specify the service classification and delivery method and identify all installation charges. Proposals are evaluated primarily on cost, with additional consideration for compatibility with existing fiber networks, local in-state vendor status, customer service and past performance, and other factors. Vendors must address requested capabilities including static IP addressing, bandwidth bursting, connectivity to library and research networks, content filtering, direct connections to content providers, flexible usage-based rates, local support, and security protections and consulting. The solicitation also requests vendor and subcontractor authorization to do business in Connecticut, identification and contact information, and a copy of proposed contract terms and conditions.
