Description
Jackson County Department of Transportation seeks a contractor to mine and process 20,000 cubic yards of 23A gravel from the Blue Ridge Road pit. The gravel must meet current Michigan Department of Transportation specifications, and the contractor must provide a pit management plan addressing environmental impacts and site rehabilitation, as well as a stockpile plan describing equipment and methods to minimize segregation. The County may reject nonconforming or visibly segregated material. Bidders must submit a proposed work plan and schedule, a list of major equipment, firm qualifications and three customer references, along with the required bid forms and pricing. The selected contractor must complete the work by August 1, 2027, unless the County approves otherwise. The resulting contract may also be extended to participating Michigan municipalities through a cooperative purchasing program.
