Description
Pierce County intends to purchase Sontek power control modules (PCMs) as replacement parts for its existing Sontek RiverSurveyor M9 sensor. The County determined that only Sontek PCMs have the specifications necessary to be compatible with the existing sensor, and the intended purchase is estimated at $30,000 over a 24-month exemption period. This is a sole-source procurement exemption and not a competitive bid or proposal solicitation. Entities believing they can meet the County’s need may submit a capability statement demonstrating authorization by the manufacturer to sell Sontek PCMs in Pierce County, or otherwise demonstrating that they can provide compatible components of matching specifications. If a capability statement demonstrates sufficient capability, the County may cancel the exemption notice and proceed with a competitive procurement.
