Description
The City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities, is soliciting construction bids for replacement of the existing modified asphalt multi-ply built-up roofing systems and insulation at the Sludge Control Building, Skimmings Thickening Building, and Skimmings Dewatering Building at the Jackson Pike Water Reclamation Plant. The work includes removal of abandoned components; modification or replacement of ladders, platforms, roof drains, prefabricated curbs, and other roof appurtenances; emergency overflow scuppers and downspouts; walkover stair/platform assemblies; safety railings; replacement of the lightning protection system; demolition of selected roof walkways, roof hatches, natural gas piping, electrical conduit, and other items; new conduit and wiring for rooftop equipment; replacement of acoustical ceiling tiles; temporary relocation and reinstallation of roof-mounted equipment; and temporary HVAC systems while rooftop units are out of service. The contract is estimated to exceed $2,000,000. Bidders must satisfy construction prequalification requirements, submit a 10 percent bid bond, and comply with prevailing-wage, insurance, performance and payment bond, subcontractor, and local-preference provisions. The successful contractor must achieve substantial completion within 360 calendar days and final completion within 390 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed; the IFB anticipates issuing the Notice to Proceed on or about January 10, 2027.
