Description
The Town of Smoky Lake, on behalf of the Smoky Lake Region (including Smoky Lake County, Village of Waskatenau, and Village of Vilna), is requesting proposals for the creation of a regional economic development framework. The successful consultant will be responsible for setting up a regional economic development organization with a governance structure, strategy, corporate identity, and marketing/data platform. Additionally, the consultant will complete a Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) project to gather data and build business relationships, engage in near-term projects identified by the BRE project that can be completed by early 2028, and promote the region as a place to invest, work, and live. The estimated contract period is 24 months, with a proposed start date of October 12, 2026.
