Description
The City of Bismarck and Bismarck Parking Authority seek qualified architectural and/or engineering firms to design and oversee construction of a new mixed-use parking ramp at the northeast corner of 7th Street and Thayer Avenue. The proposed facility is approximately 340 feet by 150 feet and should accommodate approximately 500 parking spaces, active ground-floor storefronts, and a transit hub for up to six fixed-route buses. The design must incorporate a climate-controlled skywalk to Sanford Hospital and ADA-compliant elevator access; electric vehicle charging should be included if feasible. The scope includes architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, civil, and geotechnical design; traffic operations analysis for current and projected 20-year traffic; comparison of post-tension and precast construction methods and anticipated maintenance needs; permitting; bidding support; shop-drawing review; and construction oversight. The selected firm will coordinate with the City, Bismarck Parking Authority, Bis-Man Transit, and Sanford Health. The exact scope and fees will be negotiated with the selected firm. Proposals are limited to 20 single-sided or 10 double-sided letter-size pages, using 11- or 12-point font, and should address relevant parking-ramp experience, technical capabilities, approach, personnel, schedule, and firm location.
