Description
The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, through its Bureau of Refugee Services, is soliciting applications from qualified not-for-profit and for-profit health care providers, clinics, hospitals, local health departments, and faith-based organizations to administer the New York State Refugee Medical Screening and Immunization Program statewide. Providers must conduct initial medical screenings and indicated immunizations for newly arriving refugees and other eligible persons, generally within 90 days of arrival or the date eligible immigration status is granted. Screening includes medical history review, physical examinations, laboratory and disease-specific testing, immunization review and administration, interpretation for limited-English-proficient clients, documentation, referrals, and follow-up visits. Providers must offer primary care after screening, except that local health departments may refer participants to primary and follow-up care providers. The program is performance-based and reimburses providers per capita at established rates for screening visits and eligible immunizations. Approximately $6,000,000 in Refugee Medical Assistance funds is anticipated for a multi-year program period, with awards continuing until available funds are exhausted or program needs are met. Applications must address organizational experience and capacity, program implementation, staffing, language access, outreach, medical protocols, recordkeeping, and required administrative, organizational, health-care credential, and MWBE documentation. The opportunity is a statewide reissuance with an expanded geographic area.
