Description
The City of Aurora is soliciting bids for rehabilitation work at two bridges within the city: Farnsworth Avenue Bridge Structure No. 045-6052 and Ohio Street Bridge Structure No. 045-9942. The scope includes removal and replacement of expansion joints, BEJS bridge expansion joint systems, elastomeric concrete, epoxy-coated reinforcement bars, concrete removal, partial deck-slab repairs, MSE wall repairs, approach pavement and sidewalk repairs, curb and gutter work, drainage scupper and downspout cleaning, graffiti removal and anti-graffiti coating, protective coating, structural steel and railing work, and related restoration. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, traffic control, and incidentals. Work includes railroad coordination and railroad protective liability insurance, staged construction under traffic, and compliance with applicable Illinois Department of Transportation requirements. The project includes a $50,000 allowance for items ordered by the Engineer. Work must be completed by December 18, 2026. Bidders must provide IDOT prequalification, references, subcontractor information, eligibility and tax certifications, apprenticeship or training documentation, a certificate of insurance, and the required bid deposit.
