Description
The Regional District of Nanaimo is seeking proposals for polymer used in dissolved air flotation thickening (DAFT) at its wastewater treatment facility. Proponents must recommend a polymer and provide pricing in Canadian dollars, including delivery fees, along with the product description, specific gravity, and dosing rate. The requested product is for delivery to the buyer’s facilities, and the buyer may award all, some, or none of the items. Pricing is to remain fixed for one year from award notification. The completed submission form must include a safety data sheet for each recommended product and responses covering comparable wastewater applications, polymer advantages, compatibility with existing DAFT chemical delivery equipment, packaging and tote availability, company experience and qualifications, quality control and service commitments, sustainability, and product safety. The form also requests three current wastewater-customer references using the recommended polymer in a similar thickening process. Addenda clarify that dosing rates are calculated per metric tonne of influent WAS total suspended solids and that jar-test observations and photos are preferred.
