Description
The City seeks removal and replacement of seven heavy-duty exterior commercial steel doors, frames, and associated hardware at seven water department pump station locations. Work includes removal and disposal of existing doors and related materials, installation of new doors and frames, and associated masonry infill and steel headers where existing storefront-style openings require them. Doors must be outswing, pre-primed and painted, and equipped with exterior pull handles and deadbolts and interior panic hardware. The contractor must provide manufacturer cut sheets for included components, submit a work plan for approval before removing existing doors, and keep each site secure throughout construction. The bid package requires a bid bond of at least 5% of the bid amount. A completed subcontractor list is required with the bid, even if no subcontractors will be used. The apparent low bidder must submit the supplemental bidder responsibility form and three work experience forms after bid opening when requested. The project requires performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price, subject to the stated retainage alternative for contracts of $150,000 or less. The engineer's estimate is $60,000–$90,000.
