Description
The City of Manistee is seeking qualified artists or artist teams to design, create, and install a permanent outdoor mural on an approximately 150-foot concrete retaining wall along the south side of First Street, between Oak Street and Pine Street. The wall ranges from approximately 3 feet to 7 feet 6 inches in height, faces north, and requires artists to address surface preparation. The selected artist will develop a site-specific concept reflecting local history, culture, natural features, and community identity; provide a preliminary sketch, rendering, or digital mock-up; supply all materials, equipment, and labor; complete the installation; apply appropriate protective coatings; coordinate with stakeholders; and maintain a safe, clean worksite. Proposals must include the requested submission forms, concept proposal, preliminary design, portfolio of three to five comparable works, project budget, estimated timeline, and responses to the questionnaire. Evaluation will consider artistic quality, community relevance, similar-project experience, feasibility, budget, and schedule.
