Description
The United Nations Development Programme is soliciting a contractor for the rehabilitation of approximately 100 hectares of irrigated rice perimeters at Mbakhana and Mbarigo in the Gandon commune of Senegal’s Saint-Louis region. The work includes execution studies and plans; clearing, excavation, cleaning, reprofiling, and rehabilitation of primary and secondary irrigation canals and drains; rice-field leveling and separation dikes; civil works for hydraulic structures; construction or rehabilitation of dissipation basins and intake or regulation structures; installation of 50-by-50-centimeter metal sluice gates; and supply and installation of DN 400 PVC piping. The pricing schedule also includes equipment rental for loaders, bulldozers, 16-cubic-meter trucks, and excavators. The contractor must provide qualified technical personnel, including rural engineering, civil works, environmental, earthworks, and surveying staff, as well as specified construction equipment and proof of equipment availability. The solicitation requires at least 10 years of general experience and at least two similar completed projects within the last five years, supported by client completion certificates. A performance bank guarantee equal to 10% of the total contract amount is required after award. The works have a stated execution period of three months from receipt of the start-work order, with a 12-month warranty period. A preparatory conference is scheduled online, and attendance at the collective site inspection is mandatory; the resulting site-visit certificate must accompany the offer.
