Description
Health Canada is seeking a contractor to measure chloride, fluoride, iron, chromium, arsenic, lead, and cadmium in biobanked human milk samples collected from the MIREC cohort. The work requires experience measuring toxic and trace elements in human milk using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), specifically an Agilent 8800 triple-quadrupole MS or equivalent, as well as at least five years of experience measuring and interpreting toxic- and trace-element data from human biological samples, including human milk. The contractor must provide technical support as required and perform the work at its own facility using its own staff, equipment, software, and consumables. Results and reports must be delivered electronically, and remaining biospecimens must be returned to the MIREC Biobank by a method agreed upon with the technical authority. This is an Advance Contract Award Notice identifying the University of Ottawa as the proposed contractor; qualified alternative suppliers may submit a Statement of Capabilities by the closing deadline. The proposed contract period runs from contract award through March 31, 2027, and no security requirement is stated.
