Description
Mississippi State University proposes a sole-source purchase from Induction Technology Corporation consisting of two UltraFlex Power Technologies UltraMelt TF-40 tilting induction melting furnaces, one Haskris WC-HO-46 chilled cooling system configured to support both furnaces at full duty cycle, four matching UltraFlex graphite crucibles, and startup assistance and training. The equipment will support instructional, research, and workforce-development activities in the university's Metallurgical Engineering Trade Apprenticeships and Learning program, including aluminum, brass, and other nonferrous-metal melting and casting. The requested integrated system provides automated tilting and pouring through a handheld controller, digital controls, operator-safety features, compact laboratory footprint, and coordinated cooling for simultaneous furnace operation. The proposed total cost is $114,779.00, including an $8,624.00 educational university discount.
