Description
CENIC is procuring middle-mile data transmission services for the K–12 High Speed Network, including 19 standalone data transmission circuits, 19 leased dark-fiber strands, 19 leased lit-fiber services, and Category One maintenance and operations. Requested capacities range from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps, with solutions including MEF-compliant Metro Ethernet, dedicated lit DWDM- or direct-fiber-based point-to-point service, and optional pairs of single-mode dark fibers. Installation and initial configuration are included in the service requests. Responses must use the required Circuit Pricing Worksheet (Exhibit D); PDF and locked-spreadsheet responses are not accepted. Supplemental pricing explanations may be included. Bidders must execute the CENIC nondisclosure agreement to receive CalREN hub-site addresses unless they already have a current NDA on file. The NDA may be returned by email, and the solicitation requires written questions to be submitted by email. The requested services are data transmission only, not Internet access; final quantities depend on available bandwidth and network configuration.
