Description
Correctional Service Canada requires snow clearing and removal, sanding, salting, and ice control for the St. John's Community Correctional Centre parking facility and associated areas. The contractor must provide all labour, materials, equipment, supervision, and related supplies; monitor weather and site conditions; respond to service requests within two hours; and maintain parking areas, sidewalks, entrances, walkways, roadways, and fire hydrant access. Snow removal from the property and disposal at an approved location may also be required when on-site storage reaches capacity. The initial contract period is December 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027, with up to four additional one-year options. Bidders must demonstrate at least three years of snow removal and ice control experience and provide proof of a good-standing account with the applicable provincial workers' compensation board. A letter confirming insurability is required with the bid; the successful contractor must maintain commercial general liability insurance of at least $2 million per occurrence.
