Description
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is offering competitive grants for projects that organize and provide transportation for youth groups to county and local fairs during the 2027 fair season. Eligible costs may include transportation, fair admission, meals, agricultural education programming, supplies and equipment, contractual services, and directly related marketing. Projects must increase youth attendance, agricultural awareness, and engagement, and must include plans for youth supervision, chaperones, activities, and performance measurement. Applicants may request up to $25,000, with $475,000 available under the program. Applications must address organizational background, project details, participating fairs and youth groups, outreach and partnerships, a work plan, budget, performance measures, and commitment letters from partnering businesses, organizations, or producers. Applications are submitted through the Statewide Financial System Grants Management System; faxed, mailed, emailed, and hand-delivered proposals are not accepted.
