Description
The City of Manchester is soliciting sealed bids from qualified, properly licensed contractors for demolition and replacement of sidewalks in the public right of way along the south side of Main Street, from Broad Street to Second Avenue. Work includes removing existing sidewalks, ADA ramps, stairs, and handrails; carefully extracting and reinstalling memorial bricks; hauling and lawfully disposing of demolition debris; grading, compaction, base preparation, and construction of new concrete sidewalks; installing or repairing ADA-compliant ramps and existing handrails; restoring disturbed areas; and providing traffic and pedestrian control. Materials must comply with Build America Buy America requirements. No professional drawings are available, and bidders are not required to develop designs. The contractor must be properly licensed and authorized in Georgia. Qualified, insured subcontractors may perform the work under the prime contractor's supervision. The project is expected to begin in early spring 2027, must be completed within 60 days after work begins, and must be completed within 180 days of award. A general warranty is required; the city states that there will be no retainage or liquidated damages.
