Description
The Town and County of Nantucket is soliciting bids for repairs and improvements to the Nantucket Municipal Pier at 34 Washington Street. The base bid includes mobilization and demobilization; demolition, removal, and disposal of damaged timber waveboards; installation of replacement pressure-treated timber waveboards and timber wales; replacement of wavebreak hardware, a light fixture, and damaged electrical conduit; and related marine construction, environmental controls, restoration, and disposal work. Bid Alternate No. 1 covers transportation and installation of two owner-supplied concrete floats, including pickup from New Bedford, delivery to the Nantucket project site, removal of temporary wooden floats, and installation of the replacement floats. The project requires prevailing-wage labor, OSHA 10 compliance, references for work performed during the past three years, insurance certificates, a 5% bid deposit, and payment and performance bonds. The solicitation states that the contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder based on the total base bid, with the alternate considered if awarded.
