Description
The California Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking qualified vendors to provide Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Services for residents at the Veterans Home of California at Chula Vista. Services are to be provided on an as-needed basis, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, primarily within San Diego County, with potential extensions up to 50 miles from the facility. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, staff, transportation, licenses, and permits necessary for these services. All work must be coordinated and approved by the Contract Manager or their designated representative. The contractor must ensure all employees maintain required licenses, certifications, and identification badges, and that all vehicles are properly maintained and in good working order. Services include wheelchair and gurney transportation, and the contractor must acknowledge requests within 30 minutes via telephone or email. The scope of work also includes compliance with infection control policies, HIPAA regulations, and maintaining a professional code of conduct. The contract duration is from September 1, 2026, or upon approval, until June 30, 2029. While a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) goal is not required, DVBE participation is encouraged, and the DVBE Incentive will apply.
