Description
The City of Columbia, Missouri, is soliciting bids for construction and installation of a 105-foot-long, 11-foot-clear-width, single-span prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge over Flat Branch Creek on the MKT Trail. The work includes removal of the existing bridge; furnishing and erecting the prefabricated bridge; construction of concrete end bents, approach slabs, steel pile foundations, bridge deck, railings, bearings, joint seals, rock blankets, geotextile fabric, aggregate trail base and surface, and related grading, excavation, clearing, seeding, erosion control, barricades, and construction signage. The bridge manufacturer and installer must have at least five years of relevant experience, and the intended bridge supplier must be identified with the bid. The supplier must be an approved or otherwise authorized qualified manufacturer, use an AISC-certified fabrication facility, employ qualified welders and certified weld inspectors, and provide sealed engineering drawings and calculations. The contractor must complete the project within 180 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, comply with prevailing-wage, Buy America, OSHA, ADA, utility-coordination, environmental, and traffic-control requirements, and provide a bid bond equal to at least 5% of the proposal plus performance and labor-and-material payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price when applicable.
