Mississippi State University seeks a fully operational IDEELab Metal Mobile Training Unit for K–12 outreach through the Mississippi Association of Planning and Development Districts. The unit must be a minimum 49-foot educational trailer with four electric flush slide-outs, capacity for at least 24 students and two instructors, dedicated storage and cabinetry, and electrical and spatial capacity for eight hands-on demonstration stations covering casting, CNC machining, composites, robotics, injection molding, additive manufacturing, quality control, and laser engraving. The scope includes a heavy-duty I-beam frame, three 8,000-pound axles, six-point hydraulic leveling, HVAC, a 12 kW diesel generator, compressor and power systems, ADA wheelchair lift and door, awnings, towing equipment, lighting, Wi-Fi, AV/IT systems, monitors, interior and exterior graphic wraps, safety equipment, permits, insurance, shipping, design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, training, documentation, and annual DOT inspections. The trailer must meet applicable OSHA safety requirements and include emergency egress, fire extinguishers, first-aid supplies, electrical disconnects, non-slip flooring, emergency lighting, marked exits, and signage. Bidders must demonstrate prior experience designing and manufacturing comparable expandable educational, laboratory, training, or specialty outreach trailers. The bid opening deadline was extended by Addendum One to October 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
