Description
Kern County Public Works Department is soliciting sealed paper bids for construction work involving railroad-tie culvert replacements on Bena Road. The scope includes road reconstruction, slope grading, removal and salvage of existing cattle-crossing redwood, roadway excavation, imported borrow, aggregate base, hot-mix asphalt, fencing, guardrail work, traffic control, traffic striping, and related environmental and water-pollution-control measures. The project has an estimated bid value of $545,688 and a 30-working-day performance period. Bidders must hold an A or C-12 California contractor license, be registered and qualified for California public works, and submit the County's bid form, bidder's security, subcontractor list, non-collusion declaration, bidder certifications, bidders list, and other required bid-book forms. A 10% bid bond or other permitted bidder security is required; the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. The contract has a delayed start, with working days beginning March 8, 2027.
