Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking applications for a cooperative agreement to establish a roster of approved but unfunded (ABU) applicants. These applicants may receive rapid funding to respond to public health emergencies (PHEs) that overwhelm available resources. The program aims to enhance the nation's ability to mobilize, surge, and respond to identified PHEs. Funding is contingent upon the determination of an existing or imminent public health emergency and the availability of appropriations. This opportunity is not intended for capacity building or establishing new programs, but rather to support surge needs of existing programs during significant PHEs. Upon activation, CDC will provide supplemental guidance for specific activities tailored to the emergency. Applicants must describe how their proposed activities will not duplicate or supplant other federal funding. Eligible applicants include states, political subdivisions of states, and other public entities, including local government organizations serving large populations and federally recognized tribal governments serving populations of 50,000 or more. Applicants must demonstrate existing capacity for public health emergency management through organizational charts and work plans.
