Description
CENIC is procuring Category One data transmission services for the K–12 High Speed Network. The scope includes 19 standalone data transmission or managed circuits, 19 leased lit-fiber connections, 19 optional leased dark-fiber strands, and Category One maintenance and operations. Requested capacities range from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps, with potential solutions including MEF-compliant Metro Ethernet, dedicated lit DWDM or direct-fiber point-to-point service, and pairs of single-mode dark fibers. Installation and initial configuration are required. Responses must use the Pricing Worksheet in Exhibit D; PDF and locked-spreadsheet responses are not accepted. Bidders must review the RFP and exhibits for minimum requirements, terms, disqualification factors, and deadlines. An NDA is required to obtain CalREN hub-site addresses unless the bidder already has a current NDA on file. The attached Exhibit C also establishes federal and state discount invoicing, reporting, and compliance requirements that may apply during contract performance.
