Description
This Sources Sought notice is market research to identify U.S.-flag, self-sustaining transport ships available to load, transport, and discharge two ancillary surface craft. Vessels must use a suitable float-on/float-off well deck or appropriately rated heavy-lift cranes; open-ocean towed barges and nonconforming lift ships are excluded. The requested voyage is from Mobile, Alabama, to Okinawa, Japan, with laydays from January 4 through January 8, 2027. Respondents are asked to provide vessel and rate information, including vessel capabilities, the loading and discharge plan, stowage and safety details, route and voyage estimates, lump-sum pricing, detention rates, and reimbursable daily pricing. The contractor scope described includes providing transport cradles and seafastening, an independent marine surveyor, gas-free certification before discharge, temporary toilet facilities during float-on/float-off operations, line handlers, and a security team.
