Description
The Defense Logistics Agency is conducting market research to assess ocean carriers’ commercial availability and operational capacity to transport government-generated hazardous waste from Guam to permitted facilities on the U.S. West Coast. The cargo includes RCRA-regulated waste, contaminated liquids and solids, used oil, batteries, and other regulated hazardous materials across multiple DOT/IMDG hazard classes. Shipments are generally consolidated into 40-foot containers, with ISO tank containers also possible for bulk liquids; the estimated required throughput is two 40-foot containers per week, for an indefinite shipping window. Respondents are asked to describe their vessel availability and route coverage, Jones Act compliance, ability to accept and transport the listed waste classes, weekly capacity, operational or regulatory constraints, and willingness to support the shipments. This is market research only and does not constitute a solicitation or commit the Government to a future procurement or award. Responses must be emailed as Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word files, with the specified subject line.
