Borough of Naugatuck LEGAL NOTICE FY27-B142 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO DEVELOP 889 NEW HAVEN ROAD INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT The Borough of Naugatuck is seeking proposals from qualified development partners to acquire and transform the 36-acre brownfield site at 889 New Haven Road into a modern light industrial or commercial complex. Backed by $4.2 million in state grants, the Borough will lead environmental remediation, which will seamlessly integrate with the developer's vertical construction and site design as part of the final engineered environmental cap. Proposalswhich may cover the full property or designated parcelsmust adhere strictly to commercial, light industrial, or retail end uses (no residential). Sealed Responses will be received by the Mayor's Office, Borough of Naugatuck, Town Hall, 229 Church Street, Connecticut, 06770 until February 26, 2027 at 4:00 PM after which no additional proposals will be accepted. The RFP document may be obtained at no cost from the Borough's website: https://www.naugatuck-ct.gov/bids-RFPs A Non-Mandatory Pre-Submittal Meeting and Site Tour is scheduled for November 10, 2026, 10:00 AM at Borough Hall, 4th Floor, 229 Church Street. The right is reserved by the Borough of Naugatuck to reject any or all RFPs, to waive any informalities or defects in proposals and to make such time extensions as may be necessary in order to review and compare proposals, to obtain such supplemental information as may be necessary to review proposals and to accept proposals(s) that, in the judgment of the Borough of Naugatuck, will be in the Borough's best interest. The Borough of Naugatuck is requesting proposals from qualified development partners to acquire and transform the 36-acre brownfield property at 889 New Haven Road into a modern light industrial or commercial complex. Proposals may address the full property or designated parcels and must be limited to commercial, light industrial, or retail end uses; residential development is prohibited. The Borough will lead environmental remediation using $4.2 million in state grants. The selected developer's vertical construction and site design must integrate with the final engineered environmental cap. A non-mandatory pre-submittal meeting and site tour are scheduled, and responses must be submitted as sealed proposals by the stated deadline.
