Description
The Navy intends to award a sole-source service contract to refurbish two Elwell Parker R335 main lift cylinders. Work includes disassembly and inspection, cleaning, replacement of seals and wear items, repair of damaged threads, restoration of cylinder components through processes such as honing, grinding, plating, welding, and machining, and priming and painting. The contractor must test the cylinders at 2,500 psig, verify smooth operation, and provide a final condition and status report. The government will provide the cylinders and handle their transportation; the contractor must perform the work at its own facility within a 100-mile driving radius of the shipyard. This is a notice of intent, not a request for quotes. Interested parties may email capability information for the government’s consideration of whether to compete the requirement.
