Description
Beaufort County is soliciting sealed bids from SCDOT pre-qualified prime contractors for construction of approximately two miles of new 8-foot concrete sidewalk along Stuart Point Road, from the US 21 intersection to the Seacrest Lane/Delaney Circle/Abdullah Lane intersection. The project will connect to Whale Branch Elementary and Middle Schools and remain primarily within the existing right of way, with some new right of way and easements for drainage and tree preservation. The scope includes clearing and grubbing, grading, excavation and borrow, drainage pipe and structures, concrete sidewalk, pedestrian ramps with detectable warning surfaces, pavement markings, traffic control, erosion and sediment control, fencing, landscaping and stabilization, utility coordination, and related construction. The contractor must comply with SCDOT standards, federal CDBG requirements, Davis-Bacon and other federal-aid provisions, Build America, Buy America requirements, and small and minority business participation requirements. Work is to be completed within 180 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with certain temporary easement work due within 30 days and punch-list work within 30 days.
