The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is seeking individuals to serve as Aviation Security Officers (ASOs) under personal services contracts. These contracts are for individuals only, not security companies, and are authorized under a Department of Justice class deviation memo. ASOs will provide detention services in various contexts to support USMS districts and the Justice Prisoner Air Transportation System (JPATS), ensuring the safe and secure custody of prisoners during transport, guarding, and processing. This includes securing federal property and potentially carrying firearms if qualified and authorized. The contract is for labor hours with specified maximums per year and includes a base period with four option years. Background investigations (Tier 2) and medical examinations are required for all personnel.
