Description
The U.S. Air Force is evaluating sources for a turnkey commercial wireless internet solution serving unaccompanied housing dormitories and designated common areas. The requirement includes engineering, furnishing, installation, testing, sustainment, licensing, continuity of resident service, and interoperability with existing infrastructure. Service must provide high-speed internet at no cost to residents across three day rooms, 94 dorm rooms, and three outdoor pavilions on one campus, including up to 73 modems, two Wi-Fi repeaters, and seven 24-port switches. The notice identifies Cable One, Inc. dba Sparklight as the proposed sole source because it reportedly has the only existing cable infrastructure and required installation franchise agreement on the installation. However, responsible sources may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations demonstrating technical capability and a transition approach. The anticipated performance period is five years: one 12-month base year plus four 12-month option years.
