Description
The City of Torrance is soliciting a lump-sum public works contractor to remove and replace approximately 22,543 square feet of sidewalk, 1,224 linear feet of curb and gutter, 4,150 square feet of driveway approaches, 302 curb ramps, 25 cross-gutter-related improvements, and 73 linear feet of concrete sidewalk grinding. The work also includes traffic control, construction surveying, NPDES compliance, parkway concrete removal and regrading, tree-root pruning, removal and stump grinding of 962 trees, and furnishing and installing 895 15-gallon trees and 99 24-inch-box trees. A 180-calendar-day plant establishment and maintenance period is included. The engineer's estimate is $1,500,000 to $1,700,000, with completion required within 100 working days from the Construction Notice to Proceed. The bid requires a 10% bid bond, 100% performance bond, and 100% payment bond. The project is federally assisted and subject to Davis-Bacon prevailing wages, HUD Section 3 benchmarks, Build America, Buy America requirements, California public works registration, and extensive CDBG compliance forms and certifications.
