Description
The Defense Health Agency is conducting market research to identify small businesses capable of providing full-service maintenance for eight Zeiss ophthalmology devices, including corneal topography systems, retinal cameras, a visual field analyzer, and an optical biometry system. The anticipated work includes one scheduled preventive-maintenance visit per machine each year, inspections, calibration, and replacement of parts to original equipment manufacturer standards; software updates; and troubleshooting, repair, parts replacement, and testing. Onsite response is required within 10 calendar days of a service request, with repair completion generally due within 10 calendar days after onsite access when parts are not immediately available. Work must be performed by field engineers and technicians with Zeiss original equipment manufacturer training. Interested small businesses are asked to submit a capability statement of no more than three pages as a Microsoft Word email attachment. It must describe relevant experience, response and repair capabilities, technician qualifications and training, and ability to provide original equipment manufacturer-standard parts. The response must also include company and contact details, Unique Entity Identifier, CAGE code, business size/status under NAICS 811210, and a letter from Carl Zeiss Meditec USA, Inc. identifying the respondent as an authorized representative for OPTIME service contracts and/or onsite Zeiss product repairs. The anticipated contract is firm-fixed-price, with a 12-month base period and three 12-month options.
