The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, is soliciting the purchase, fabrication, delivery, and installation of newly manufactured blade seals for the Powerhouse II five-bladed vertical-axis Kaplan turbine in Main Unit 16 at Bonneville Lock and Dam. A second set of blade seals for Main Unit 17 is optional. The contractor must provide all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, accessories, and required documentation. The contractor must design and fabricate one-piece solid seals with redundant sealing edges, no split, and field-molded solid installation. Gluing, cold bonding, hot bonding with additional material, and external adhesive or elastomer are prohibited. Approximate nominal packing dimensions are 45.252 inches outside diameter and 43.993 inches inside diameter; final dimensions and housing dimensions must be verified before fabrication and installation. The seals must be compatible with cast-steel and stainless-steel mating surfaces and fit the existing packing-box dimensions shown in the Government reference drawings.
