Description
The County of Kaua'i is soliciting construction bids for Phase II best management practice improvements at the Hanalei and Hanapepe refuse transfer stations. The work includes clearing and demolition; earthwork, grading, excavation, fill, backfill, paving, riprap, retaining and concrete walls; stormwater management and conveyance systems; temporary and permanent erosion and sediment controls; leachate collection and storage systems, including underground storage tanks; water, septic, drainage, electrical, lighting, and security improvements; covered collection areas and pre-engineered metal canopies; truck wash and queuing areas; landscaping, signage, and related site restoration. Bidders must hold a Hawai'i State contractor's license, Type A or B, before submitting. The selected contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and services; maintain continuous transfer-station operations during construction; and comply with applicable environmental, safety, permitting, inspection, testing, insurance, and bonding requirements. The base bid completion period is 360 calendar days, and performance and payment bonds are required at 100% of the contract price when applicable under the construction provisions.
