Description
The County of Kauai Department of Water is soliciting one brand-new 26,000-pound GVWR cab and chassis with a 10-foot single-wall dump body and electric automatic tarp system. The vehicle must meet extensive specifications covering the diesel engine, automatic transmission, axles, brakes, suspension, cab, safety equipment, lighting, hydraulic dump system, rear hitch, rear-view camera, and related components. Equivalent substitutions require approval where permitted. The contractor must provide a completely assembled, serviced, and operational vehicle; delivery, inspection coordination, registration-related weight forms, safety compliance, washing and polishing, full fuel tanks, manufacturer warranties, keys, and operator, parts, and service manuals. Delivery is required within 365 calendar days or sooner after the written notice to proceed. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible offeror using the vehicle price plus an evaluated lifetime fuel-cost calculation, although the contract amount will be based on the vehicle bid price.
