Description
The County of Kaua'i is soliciting bids for repairs to drying beds at the Wailua and Lihue wastewater treatment plants. The base bid covers work at Wailua WWTP, while Lihue WWTP work is identified as an additive alternate. The scope includes mobilization; temporary BMP installation, monitoring, and removal; removal and installation of cast-iron valves, fittings, and piping; trench excavation and backfill; concrete wall height increases; crack, spall, and delamination repairs; demolition and reconstruction of concrete and CMU walls and connections for redwood stop gates; sand replacement; and related work shown in the plans and specifications. The Lihue drying beds are in active use, so repairs must be coordinated with plant operations. Bidders must hold a Hawai'i State Contractor's License Type A before submitting a bid. A bid bond is required with submission, and the resulting contract will require 100% performance and payment bonds. The base bid duration is 210 calendar days, and Additive Alternate 1 has a 270-calendar-day duration. Liquidated damages are $250 per calendar day, and HCE compliance is required for contract award. Bids must be submitted electronically through the Public Purchase System.
