Description
The Utah Transit Authority is conducting a non-binding Request for Information regarding comprehensive locomotive digital audio/video recording systems for 22 Bombardier Bi-Level cab cars and 18 MP36PH-3C locomotives. The potential system may include FRA-compliant digital recording units, Department of Transportation-certified crash-hardened memory, cameras, wiring, cabling, electrical connectors, circuit breakers, brackets, installation, integration, testing, documentation, and lifecycle support. Respondents are asked to describe relevant passenger-rail experience, recommended system architectures, modernization of legacy systems, vehicle modifications, installation strategies, reliability and availability targets, diagnostics and software, cybersecurity, testing and validation, training, spare parts, warranty support, obsolescence management, and project schedules. The future project would need to support compliance with FRA 49 CFR § 229.136, EN 50155, and NFPA 130 before October 12, 2027. This RFI is for market research only and does not result in an award or contract; detailed customized pricing is not requested.
