Description
The Berkeley County Development Authority is soliciting bids for Task #2 of the CMC Industrial Access Road project. Priority 1 work includes fine grading, additional drainage structures, and paving approximately 1,800 linear feet of an existing gravel access road to CMC Steel, including a rail crossing and truck turnaround area. Priority 2 work includes realigning and widening approximately 1,300 linear feet of U.S. 11 (Williamsport Pike), adding turn lanes, constructing approximately 600 linear feet of new access road and a new intersection, and relocating utilities. The project includes relocation of approximately 800 linear feet of 12-inch and 1,250 linear feet of 30-inch ductile iron water line and 210 linear feet of 8-inch SDR-35 sewer line. Substantial completion is required within 240 calendar days after contract times commence, with final completion within 270 days. Liquidated damages are $1,000 per day. Bidders must hold a West Virginia contractor's license, provide Drug Free Workplace Certification, and submit a certified check or bid bond equal to 5% of the base bid. A two-envelope bid system is required.
