Description

South Orange County Community College District is soliciting a general engineering contractor for improvements to Saddleback College Parking Lot 9B. The project will convert the existing dirt and gravel lot into a permanent paved parking facility and includes demolition, grading, excavation, compaction, asphalt pavement, concrete curbs and gutters, sidewalks, parking stalls, markings, traffic-control signage, accessible parking and routes, a passenger drop-off and loading area, retaining structures, ramps, stairs, handrails, and guardrails. The work also includes storm drainage and underground detention infrastructure; site electrical systems, parking-lot lighting, and power distribution; Level 2 EV charging stations; underground fiber, data, emergency-phone, and other low-voltage communications infrastructure; recycled-water irrigation and landscaping; and required testing, inspections, permits, traffic control, SWPPP measures, utility coordination, restoration, and closeout documentation. The preliminary cost estimate is $1,907,400. The contractor must hold an A - General Engineering Contractor license, and the bid requires 10% bid security, a 100% payment bond, and a 100% performance bond.
