The U.S. Army is soliciting a new bench-top inductively coupled plasma–optical emission spectrometry system comparable to the Agilent 5800 or an equivalent system meeting the stated specifications. The system must provide simultaneous UV and visible determinations, dual-view vertical plasma, a solid-state detector, an echelle polychromator, mass-flow-controlled plasma gases, automated oxygen addition for organic matrices, and compatibility with aqueous and organic samples. The requirement also includes Windows 11-compatible software with automated background and spectral-interference correction, quality-control functions, raw-data retention, and post-run reprocessing; a separate remotely placeable water chiller; an autosampler with at least 180 sample positions and 11 standards; an HF-resistant nebulizer and spray chamber; and a five-channel peristaltic pump with cyclonic spray chamber and concentric nebulizer. Refurbished or demonstration units are not acceptable. A one-year parts, labor, and travel warranty is required, and the instrument must meet specified EPA detection limits and certified metal-standard accuracy requirements.
