Description
The Town of Needham is soliciting sealed bids for a replacement 34-foot by 10-foot precast concrete electronic truck scale with a minimum 75-ton capacity and 80,000-pound concentrated load capacity. The scope includes furnishing, delivery, removal of the existing steel weighbridge, foundation preparation, installation, calibration, integration with existing scale instrumentation and printer, surge and lightning protection, certified drawings, personnel training, and a five-year prepaid preventive-maintenance and calibration agreement. The scale must be installed and operational within two consecutive working days after delivery and within eight weeks of contract execution. The solicitation also requires specified warranties, NTEP certification, applicable standards compliance, and a local servicing address within 50 miles of the project location. Bidders must submit the supplied bid forms, references for at least five similar projects completed within the last five years, insurance certificates, a bid deposit of at least five percent of the bid value, and other listed certifications and acknowledgments. The contract term runs from execution through March 31, 2027. A payment bond equal to 50 percent of the contract price is required upon contract execution; a performance bond is not required.
