Description
Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a licensing partner to support product development, validation, and market deployment of an advanced metal hydride microreactor platform. The opportunity is for exclusive or non-exclusive licensing of patented and patent-pending technology; it is not a call for external services to develop the technology. The platform combines a proprietary crack-free metal hydride fabrication process, a thermally protective heat pipe moderator design, and a complete microreactor core architecture using conventional nuclear fuel and qualified materials. It is designed to reduce fuel requirements by up to 50%, eliminate active moderator cooling and complex environmental controls, scale from laboratory prototypes to industrial production without batch-size recalibration, and operate at temperatures exceeding 1,000°C. Applications include defense and energy, space power and nuclear thermal propulsion, off-grid power, advanced reactor manufacturing, industrial process heat, and research or isotope production. The technology is at TRL 4–5 and is covered by U.S. Patent No. 11,802,045, with additional patents pending.
